WHAT IS L.A.P.S. ?

The League for Animals and People of the Summit (L.A.P.S.) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit (#84-1157625) which raises funds to support a variety of programs for the pets of low income families living or working in the Summit County area. Your membership fee and any donations go to a great cause and are fully tax deductible. Although we are not directly associated with the Summit County Animal Shelter, we support their spay/neuter program with a grant from The Summit Foundation. Funds for L.A.P.S. programs come from memberships, special events, grants and donations from generous individuals and businesses. LAPS does not have ANY paid staff members, just very dedicated volunteers - every penny goes towards the cause. Contact us anytime by US mail or E-mail us at laps@colorado.net or come to a meeting. WELCOME to our MEETINGS!
We meet at 6:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month at Abbey's Coffee in Frisco on Main Street next to BackCountry Brewery. Please join us as a member of L.A.P.S. or just come to the meeting to get aquainted. Energetic, involved people are always needed to serve as board members and to help with special events around Summit County. We look forward to hearing from you. LAPS events for dogs in Summit County includes Dog Terra, Canine 4K Feline No-Way, and Pet Photos with Santa and Grinch. Let's Go Boating on Father's Day weekend at Dillon Marina benefits L.A.P.S. but dogs can't sail with you.

L.A.P.S. is spearheading the effort to get Dog Parks in Summit County. We need volunteers to form local committees and attend local government meetings to lobby for dog parks in your town.
