MEMBERSHIP  IN  L.A.P.S. - Here's Why You Should Join Us:

Since 1991 we've been asking individuals, families and businessses who love animals and value the human-animal bond, to join us.   You will be assisting other pet owners who need financial aid to maintain the quality of their pet's life, as well as helping to reduce the critical problem of pet overpopulation.   The success of L.A.P.S. is largely dependent upon community support through tax deductible annual membership.   The League for Animals & People of the Summit welcomes endowments for lifetime memberships and bequests honoring special pets, people or events through donations and additional contributions.   We publish a free newsletter every other month or so online in which we include pictures, articles, or memorials that our members may wish to contribute.   Contact us anytime by US mail or E-mail  us at laps@colorado.net or come to a meeting.

Left click here or on the "How to Join" button at right to print out a membership form!

  • Your membership dues help us provide financial support to Summit County area pets and their owners through our animal assistance programs and projects.
  • Your tax deductible donation helps us reduce pet suffering from overpopulation and unwanted pets.
  • You're encouraged to attend our monthly board meetings and annual general membership meeting to provide input into ongoing programs and the development of new projects and public events for dogs.
  • NO PAID STAFF:  most of your money goes straight to the deserving animals & not to salaries and overhead.

WELCOME to our MEETINGS!
We meet at 6:30 pm on the third Thursday of each month at Abbey's Coffee in Frisco on Main Street next to BackCountry Brewery.   Please join us as a member of L.A.P.S. or just come to the meeting to get aquainted.   Energetic, involved people are always needed to serve as board members and to help with special events around Summit County.   We look forward to hearing from you.   LAPS events for dogs in Summit County includes Dog Terra, Canine 4K Feline No-Way, and Pet Photos with Santa and Grinch.   Let's Go Boating on Father's Day weekend at Dillon Marina benefits L.A.P.S. but dogs can't sail with you.

L.A.P.S. is spearheading the effort to get Dog Parks in Summit County.   We need volunteers to form local committees and attend local government meetings to lobby for dog parks in your town.   Please email us at laps@colorado.net if you can help with this.   Left click here to view the Dog Park detail page.
