The primary function of LAPS is reducing pet overpopulation through our spay/neuter programs in the Summit County, Colorado area. Our other programs benefit the general welfare of pets whose low-income owners are in need of financial assistance.

League for Animals and People of the Summit (L.A.P.S.) is a 501 C-3 non-profit #84-1157625 that raises funds to support a variety of programs for companion animals of low income families living or working in the Summit County area. While not directly associated with the Summit County Animal Shelter, we do support their spay/neuter program with a generous grant from The Summit Foundation. LAPS also sponsors a discount voucher (for spay/neuter only) that can be picked up at the Animal Shelter in Frisco. Funds for LAPS programs come from tax-deductable memberships, special events, public grants, and generous donations from the local business community. LAPS does not have ANY paid staff members, just very dedicated volunteers, so every penny goes towards the cause. Please contact us by E-mail at laps@colorado.net or come to a meeting.

Thanks again for your caring contributions!
